Hen or Roo speckled Sussex

This was our Speckled Sussex rooster in the first photo (right) at almost exactly five weeks in comparison to our hen (left). He looks a lot like your two (especially the comb) and ours definitely turned out to be a roo. The second photo is him now!
He also took a lot longer than the other girls to grow his feathers in.
(I'm also not sure if this is a perfect sign, but ours had white ears, whereas our hens had brown.)

It's the only rooster I've ever had, but he is super sweet! I'm really glad our rooster ended up being this breed. He takes such great care of his hens, he protects them and feeds them whatever treats he finds. He asks for hugs. We handled him a lot as a little chick which I think really helped. I've heard of other breeds of roosters being really mean, but definitely ours turned out wonderful!
