Ive read that the lighter colored barred rocks are usually roos is there anyway these two could still be hens?

No sorry, they are cockerels They are double barred which is only possible with males.

Ok thanks! We have 8 and were hoping to only have one cockerel :/ 3 is a lot for 5 hens
