Hen or roo?

This has to be a rooster right? It was from a straight run batch. The comb is soooo red. I don't know the age, because I got this Chick a little older.. But my other chicks of similar age, (different breed) have not started with the red colored comb yet. Am I right or is this a Hen? Are sebrights just different? View attachment 1397263
:welcome

That's where knowing the age helps. The best I can do is to say that it's likely a cockerel, in my opinion. Hopefully Sebright experts will come in and help out. Otherwise, time will have to tell. It sure is a cute little thing!
Isn't it though? I think it's beautiful. My loudest Chick though I'll say that. A complainer and skiddish .

Sebright roosters have what is called "hen feathering", meaning the roosters don't have the normal rooster feathers (long, shiny feathers at the base of the neck and tail, and long sickle feathers that curl over the tail). Because of this, they seem to be very difficult to sex. However, the redness of the comb may mean it is a cockerel, although with their small rose combs, again, it can be difficult. So for now, I would say possibly cockerel, but you really won't know for sure until you hear crowing or see an egg.
Actually, you can tell almost all breeds genders at 6-8 weeks old or older. If comb is not telling, you can wait until 12 weeks for male specific feathering. Sebrights are hen feathered so they don't have this, but the comb is as good as anything.
Almost the only time you have to wait for a crow or egg, is if you have an extremely difficult silkie to sex. But still, that rarely happens.
