No worries! I agree with you, 1 and 3 do look like cockerel due to some saddle and sickle feathers I can slightly see.I'll have to make new pics tomorrow and post them. I feel confident that #1 and #3 are roos. In this pic they were 12 weeks old. They will be 15 weeks Monday. I'm new at this chicken thing and posting![]()
What’s the difference between a cockerel and a rooster beside age? As for little chickens they have comb but so do my older hens. .I'll have to make new pics tomorrow and post them. The only difference between a cockerel and a rooster is the age. A cockerel is a young rooster (under 1 year old) and a rooster is more than 1 year old. I keep their coop next to the older birds so they see each other but don’t li together yet, these little guys are the best. I’ve grown very attached to them. We this five of seven are cockerels and only two hens...we don’t need six rooster. Spike will go. He’s are mean older adopted on. But the are new hams reds...will they change colors soon so I can tell who the guys and gals are. And I want to get the guys friendly so we can keep them all. Maybe make chicken coops and runs. Yes I understand, please make a new thread so I can help you sex your chickensI mean the little guys do have a coop and run next to the big one...but I plan to open it all up. But the cross beam that goes down the middle with wire deviding them...hmm but that’s my hope..to double everything in size and have them all in harmony...but he thinks the older chickens will bully the young ones and they won’t come out to play like they do now and I’d be sad
