Hen or Roo?

That looks like an Ayam Cemani cockerel!! KEEP!!!! Get a couple of Ayam Cemani hens and let them have some fun together!!!

If you aren't allowed to have a rooster, $ell...don't give away!!

Ayam Cemanis are a little less rare than they used to be, but there are still lots of people who would love to have a good Cockerel like that one, for future breeding projects!

I got him from a hatchery near my house. He is an ayam cemani, but I believe that he's not as pure as they think, he has a brownish tint on the end of some of his feathers.

I want to keep him, I want it to be a roo, I got it specifically hoping it would be but they were straight run so I wasn't sure.

Awesome!! Now it's time to build a small coop just for the Ayams and get a couple of hens. I think you can sometimes breed out the leakage by selecting for chicks that don't have any light coloration.
