Hen or Roo?

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure, lol, what made u think it would be a roo? Our early guesses aren't always right, lol
Well we got 2 from the same litter and the other 1 was way smaller and had a smaller comb. Only to find out the other 1 was a roo and this 1 is a hen. Im surprised, definitely good to know though.😊

An Easter Egger? We were told it was an Ameraucana.
Well, to put it simply, it's kinda like the rectangle and the square, all Ameraucanas are EEs but not all EEs are Ameraucanas. At least that's what I've gathered from ppl on here. There is a debate about whether they're closely related, which came first, and even what should be considered an EE vs an Ameraucana, but I don't know too much about them, so I'll leave that be, lol

They can surprise us, lol. Guesses made as chicks are often inaccurate! We've all been there. Combs are generally a good indicator but don't tell the whole story, especially with Ameraucanas! Size is not usually a good indicator, my mother has a bantam roo that is like half to a third the size of his fellow roos and hens! They're all bantams too, but he's just smaller for some reason.

Thanks so much for all the help. 😁
