I’m afraid to ask, lol, but is the RIR at the middle top a rooster or a hen do you think? 12 weeks old

Personally I couldn't say for sure with 100% certainty. If its 12 weeks its possibly a fast maturing pullet. Any pics from 6-7 weeks in age?
I was thinking the same thing. By that age you usually see glossy feathers coming in on the back and shoulders of male reds.

I think more pictures are needed.

Especially younger pics would help. A 12 week old hatchery type RIR pullet could have this much comb.

It looks rather like a cockerel.

Also, welcome to BackYard Chickens! We're very happy to have you here, and we hope that you enjoy the site.
Good luck with your flock!

I take lots of pics but no way to know that particular one at that age. No crowing yet. So I have 9 others, assuming the other 9 are hens, is the ratio ok if it is a Roo? I’ve read horror stories of roosters and don’t want any part of that. They all get along so well right now.
