I agree, a boy. At that age the comb and wattles are large and bright red. A girl's would be much paler. Thos legs look pretty thick, a sign of a boy. Also he is kind of young but I think I see saddle hackle feathers.
Which hatchery was it? I'd be interested in reading their guarantee. Some may give a 100% guarantee while some only give a 90%.

It is called vent sexing. The people that vent sex are typically really good but sometimes the differences in the sexes are really small, hard to see for sure. It is not 100% accurate.I sent pictures to the hatchery because they want pictures to give me a refund if they sent the wrong sex. This hatchery, according to a book I read, has a specific sexing person and I paid for hens.

I don't know what country you are in so some of this will not apply. But I'll assume you are in the USA, if you are somewhere else you may find equivalents. At any rate, I was suspect after I got rid of the other rooster and this one took charge. I can’t have a rooster and my friend who took the other one probably doesn’t want a second one, so what can I do?

Good ideas. On this forum you can find your state or country thread in the "Where am I? Where are you!" section and chat with your neighbors. Or go to the buy-sell-trade section and start a new thread. Put your location in the title so you attract the attention of people near you that can help. You could try to rehome via FB, Craigslist, or here.
