Hen Or Roo?

Are you guys sure it's an Orpington?? It's body is, yes, very upright and looks alot skinner than an Orpington. Not really like the Orpington pictures mom4morecritters showed us.

Yes, its an Orpington . I am trying to find me a few to add to my flock .
All chickens grow differently , regardless if same breed or not . I have ( 15 ) 18 week old rir's and several are smaller than others .

I guess we'll find out who's right and who's wrong.

I've got a question for you Liz......Why do you find the need to shout and space the words oddly in all your posts? Caps are shouting in the forum world in case you don't know.

Habit . I am in a chatroom and I have one of my friends that has a severe eye problem and ask me to use caps . Its also a form of expression . Sorry if it offends anybody but I am not the only person that does this , but seems I am the only person that is ever spoken to about it . SO , SO SORRY . LOL and yes , i do know what it means in a chatroom or forum . been online since 1990 . lol not my 1st. merry go round .

Besides , I am not hurting anyone .

Sorry to hear that your friend has a vision problem. I'm blind as a bat without my glasses so can relate to not being able to see the best.

Yes, it's a form of expression.....it's yelling.

No, you're not hurting anyone, but I think it just makes your posts harder to read.

It looks like a hen to me. I raised 4 BO roos this summer and they all had more and redder combs than yours does at the same age. Hope it is. My roos were beautiful but mean to my girls they all got culled for their behavior. Mine are just now 5 months old and I knew they were roos more than 2 months ago.

This is my Buff Orpington roo at eight weeks:

As you can see, the comb is red and pronounced. Here are f the hens at eight weeks:

The difference is pronouced. I think the original poster's BO is a hen, then again, the pictures aren't the clearest.
