Hen or Roo ?

Hi, I have two Buff Orpingtons. 6 mo. old. I am trying to figure out if one of them is a roo. (sorry don't have pic's) The one in question ~ it tail feathers are a little longer and curve down to the ground. The other has shorter tail feathers are a little shorter and come more to a gentle point (curve). Both waddles and combes look the same. ( Well they did till one of my R. C. R. I. R. beat the crap out of it almost putting out it eye.) Yesterday I got 2 eggs I am assuming came from the Buffs. ?? So if one is a roo ? Is there any way I can tell ? Have been trying to find pic's of Buff Orphingtonn hen / roos . No success. Any ideas appreciated ! THANKS !

From what you have said it sounds like you have a rooster.

At 6 months old you'd hear a crow if you had a rooster. This is far different from clucking and the egg song hens make.
