Is it common for the so called "rooster feathers" to take so long to show? This bird's feathers are rounded compared to the boys I have the same age. That is the only thing that made me think maybe puller.

I have had few that take a while to develop saddle feathers

I have had about 12-15 roosters and they all showed those feathers early on. Guess I just assumed that would always be the case. Thank goodness for the BYC community! I learn so much on this site.

I've had some be a good 16 weeks before they started showing sex feathers. I've seen pics here of Orpingtons that were 8 months old and just getting theirs.
