Hen or Rooster? 13 weeks

The Easter Egger and Brahma are both cockerels. On the Orpington, I'm not sure. Would you be able to post a profile pic, clearly showing the saddle feathers? (located just in front of the tail) Based on comb development at 13 weeks, it's definitely a roo. But it doesn't look particularily roo-ish to me, and I believe McMurray's 4 week old chicks are *at least* 4 weeks old, so if the Orp was in fact 7 weeks old, then it could be 16 weeks old now, and possibly reddening up to lay.

Craig - I don't know much at all about turkeys. You'll probably have much better response posting a new, separate thread, with a "Is my Bourbon Red turkey a tom or a hen?" title, to help attract turkey-knowledgeable people.

I've been raising chickens forever and I had like 20 breeds the white one looks like a hen the black and white one looks like a rooster

Need help identifying which is laying I have gotten eggs but I don't know which is laying. How do I know which ones are laying?

That chick is too young to have a comb that red. The mother has a red comb because she a mature hen. Pullets don't get red in the comb until they are close to laying age. Cockerels are usually bright red in the combs by 10 weeks.

Orpingtons tend to be slower to mature. At 13 weeks, with a comb that big and red, it's a cockerel.

Cowgirl71- I am new in the chicken world and I need help. So, my question is that I have had my chickens since April 5th and I still don't know which ones are boys or girls. Some have started to lay but I don't know which. Also, it has been about 5 months and I haven't heard any of them cock a doodle do. Does that mean they are all girls?

Thank you, I am still new to this. I just hate that out of the six (one month old) pullets I ordered this spring two are roosters. That was one of the reasons I spent the extra money on them, I thought it was a safer bet......WRONG!!!
