I have had this chicken for about 3 months was told it was a hen and 2 months old when i bought it. Two days ago in the morning while going out to the coop to let the girls out for the day i heard what kinda sounded like a crow like a rooster makes. ( .a real bad one anyway) and this is also the only chicken that has not started laying yet too but it is also the youngest.

Sounds like a rooster in the making, their first attempts at crowing are quite pitiful. I would think he will find his crow soon and then you will know for certain.

Glad you joined us!

Hmm, sounds like you have a cockerel on your hands, (though hens can crow too, but it's extremely rare, especially for a young bird). Does he have any other rooster traits?

has no spurs on the legs. but does bow up at all the other chickens and sometimes us when we walk in the coop.

Take and post a photo of the bird - the bird is at least 3 months old (should be 5 if the age you were told is correct) - so gender ID will be quite easy on sight. While hens *can* crow, they are not nearly as common as some would lead you to believe and do not occur in young birds such as this. The presence or absence of spurs is not something to use in determining gender regardless of age due to the fact that females can/do develop spurs and males can go their entire life without ever having them come in.
