Hen or Rooster?

We got this as our "bonus" chicken from Murry McMurray when we ordered our Brown Leg Horns. Ofcourse the kids loved it best because it looked different from the other 25 chicks we got

We have been thinking it's a hen but now wondering if it's a rooster? He/She is 9 months old. What do you think?

Looks like a pullet buff orpington , but it would have been laying 4 months ago... hmmm?

We we are getting 2 brown eggs a day and have 4 chicks that could be laying right now - We have been getting extremely LARGE brown eggs so I figured it would be coming from Big Bird but my husband said he thinks Big Bird is a rooster.

The brown eggs we'd been getting are too large to put into an egg carton!

Maybe it's from her!!!

It's a Buff Orpington rooster.

My BO looks just like her and she lays huge light brown eggs.

These are huge light brown also; we get 1 about every other day. Unfortunately the way the coop is set up we don't know who is laying what. We have 13 Brown Leg Horn Hens which lay white eggs and 4 hens that would be laying brown eggs; we get average of about 5 white eggs and 1 brown egg a day. I thought about setting up a camera to see who is laying what - I'm just curious.

Looks like it's a 50 - 50 call - I don't feel bad that I could tell now!!

I would say it's a buff cochin rooster, because of the hackles. Any crowing or laying though??

Absolutely no crowing - not sure about laying because we have so many I can't tell who is laying and who isn't. My son did say he saw Big Bird "attack" a hen on the neck yesterday - - That's when my husband claimed he's a rooster.
