Hi there, this is Peep, my special needs chicken. Peep is 3 months old, but her (I hope) growth is very stunted and she has digestive problems which means she will live her life as a house chicken. My vet agrees that that is the best route to go, and she is otherwise happy.

The thing is, I've been calling Peep 'her' but really don't know what her gender officially is. 'She' just doesn't act like a rooster at all in my opinion based on her siblings, but as I am very much a newbie, I can't tell for sure.

What do you think? Hen or rooster?

Thank you!

Pointy, and shiny,it will be an obvious change, trust me you’ll know.
Ok, I know with Peep's siblings that are definitely roosters, that they have the long pointy hackle feathers that give them away. Peep has none of that going on *yet*. What led me to question are the feathers coming out behind the tail, and the tail feathers themselves. I will keep an eye out... Thanks!
