Red patches on the shoulders of EE points to cockerels in case you get more of that breed. Plus the description of how he acts with the other chicks points to male as well.

Sure! I wasn’t sure about her/his bread either. Once the legs started turning green I assumed she was an easter egger but haven’t found pics of any other chicks she looks like. The people we got them from had no clue about chicks.
Thanks! Would you like to be anonymous or would you like me to put your name on the photo before using it?![]()
Easter egger cockerel
Sure you can put my name
If you keep him you will probably have to keep him separated on and off from the pullets/hens because he will overmate them and cause them problems. Usually the ratio is 1 rooster to 10 hens. There are occasion though where you can have one rooster and two or three hens. You will just have to observe the behavior.I don’t know if we can have a rooster? The neighbors probably won’t appreciate it but I can deal with that. I know I can’t raise chicks although my kids would love it. I’m sure there aren’t any vets near us that could neuter it (that’s even possible). Wouldn’t it be mean to separate him from the 2 hens he loves?
