A few months ago, we received 4 Buckeye pullets from a friend. Well, we thought they were all female but as they grew, we had our suspicions. We have become attached to all four, however, we are unable to keep roosters because of where we live. Because we’re attached to them I think we’re in denial and just need opinions, are these hens or roosters??
I agree with Sourland, too. I'm assuming you have only 4 chickens, so it looks like you have 2 cockerels and 2 pullets. In picture 6, both birds are cockerels. The one in front is possibly a pure Buckeye, the other a Buckeye/Easter egger cross.
In picture 7, the bird on the left, with only the tail showing, appears to be a pullet. The bird front and center is your Buckeye cockerel. Behind him, and facing in the opposite direction from him, is a Buckeye/Easter egger cross pullet. In the upper right corner, the lower body of the other cockerel is visible.
Honestly, 2 for 2 isn't bad. If you have to rehome the cockerels, at least you will have a couple of pullets left over.
