I acquired 2 Easter eggers. The light one constantly makes eye contact, and doesn't like to be held. The lighter colored one likes being held. Give me your opinion guys.

I meant the darker one likes to be held. She has a black tail feather

The reason I say EEs is because the guy that gave them to me bought them for his son the Saturday before Easter.
Easter Egger is a specific type of chicken that lays colored eggs. It is not when they were bought. They would still be Easter Eggers even if they were bought at Christmas time. However, a Barred Rock, for example, purchased at Easter time would NOT magically become an Easter Egger just because it was bought at Easter. It doesn’t work like that.

While Easter Egger is not technically a “breed” like some others because there is so much variation still and they can also be mixes, it IS a specific type and no other chicken breed is considered an Easter Egger. It slaps doesn’t change based on what holiday you get them around. Like how there is no Christmas Egger or Halloween Egger.

EEs usually lay green or blue eggs but can also lay pink or even brown sometimes. They usually (but not always) have pea combs and green/slate colored legs. These look like production reds or sex links possibly. Did the guy say what breed they were when he got them?

He didn't know. I appreciate the information you gave me. I had no clue LOL. I'm really excited that they are possibly New Hampshire Reds. I have 2 Rhode Island reds and I absolutely love them. They are the bosses of both Coops. I imagine these little ones will possibly have the same attitude?
