Yeah, it is kind of crazy. Her comb and wattles are even bigger than they were when I posted the picture. She always gives me that mean looking rooster eye too; like she wants to come and peck me in the face but doesn't have the guts (probably because I told her about the Mexican roadside BBQ chicken recipe with her name on it). Must be some kind of mutant, egg laying. no crowing, rooster.
We are positive it wasn't one of the other chickens that laid the egg. My wife watched her go in the nesting box and lay an egg today while the others were out in the yard. She sat in a lawn chair next to the coop to make sure nobody else snuck in there and dropped an egg.
ok it's easy for me to say that now but I mean where are it's saddle feathers? and those feet and legs are sooo small my first thought was hen, yes she has a large comb and wattles but I think the feathers are the best indicator of gender in general.
