So I went to the feed store today and they told me it was not illegal for me to have chickens as long as I kept them penned up. They said they had to find out back in the spring during "chick days" and the animal control said it was fine. This goes against everything I've read, but I'm sure if they are selling chicks they have to know. So I'm very happy.

As far as my new "henry"penny I am bringing him in every night in a pet carrier and then bring him out in the morning to have coffee with me and he eats and then I put him out with the other hens about 10a.m. since he is so small its really been fun.
I'm hoping this will continue to work.
