Hen or Rooster?

Hi everyone,

I am completely new to chicken ownership and just got my first birds (a chicken and a pekin duck) a few months ago. I took my chances not knowing if I got boys or girls, and for a while I was certain that my chicken was a hen, but now "she" has started crowing and those tail feathers are getting kinda big!

I was told that I got a cross between a White Rock and a Rhode Island Red, and "she's" about 16 weeks or 4 months old right now.

Can anyone confirm if this is a hen or a rooster? How and when would I know?

That's a rooster, especially if it's crowing. Plus I see pointy hackle feathers, a very large comb for four months old. Pretty boy though

I had read somewhere in this forum that sometimes hens will crow if there's no rooster in the flock so I was really hoping that he wasn't a rooster. :-(
