Hi there I’m new to this chicken thing and I had a hen pass away yesterday. Two weeks ago I found her with a very poopy bum which I thought may have been vent gleet. I bathed and soaked her bum and all seemed to be well. Two days ago on Sunday I noticed her behaving oddly and not really lo ring around. Either standing in place or laying. She also was eating. I stared feeding her by hand with magic water, rooster booster and other immune vitamins. Monday late afternoon she passed when I brought her in to soak for egg bound. I didn’t notice she was egg bound before she had passed bc I checked and felt around her bent and the egg was much lower almost under herbackside. The egg felt high and I wanted to take a look at it so I cut her open and removed the egg. It looked like it was lash egg but possibly Egg Yolk Peritonitis. The inside of the egg had a bluish green rotten liquid and was horrible smelling. The egg had a thick yellow waxy coating and then there was the shell of an egg inside. Does anyone have experience with either and know what was going on? Also do I need to be worried she may of had something that was viral to my other birds and if so what should I do? The egg was at least double her normal size and I wonder had I caught it sooner would she even have passed it on her own with soaking? Thanks for any help!

Yes, it looks like a huge mass of lash material. I'm so sorry for your loss...
:hugs
