My Eleanor Roostavelt is broody right now, so she's been out and about with her sisters and their men-folk for an hour or so a day. She gets all puffy and clucks about as if she's on a very important mission. The roos don't mess with her. This morning I noticed another hen acting like her. But unlike Eleanor, Blutoo is not broody. She just puffs up and clucks about and won't let the roos anywhere near her. She acts perfectly normal except for that. I'm starting to think it's her way of saying, "Not tonight, dear, I have a headache." Has anyone else had such a hen? Just curious.

Oh, my! It must be contagious. Eleanor hatched yesterday and today. I guess I'll have to make another hatching suite!

Sure enough, Blutoo did not come out of the coop this morning. She wants to be a mama. Guess I'll give her a couple eggs to keep her happy. :)
