Hen quit laying eggs

On Friday June 26, my black australorp went broody. I put eggs under her. Her best friend, my silver laced Wyandotte quit laying eggs the same day. But she is not broody. I read everywhere it could be because of the summer heat (Arkansas). But my 2 Easter Eggers are still laying. Also my silkies. Could it be she quit laying because her best friend is not hanging out with her? Just wondering, because that’s what it seems like....

Since she still isn't old enough to stop laying altogether, some other possible reasons could be stress, poor nutrition, molting, not enough light, to many goodies or dehydration.

It’s just weird she stopped right when her buddy went broody

It could still be heat related. I have a few hens tgat havent beem laying in this heat and others that do that are the same agw

Look under the broody....her friends eggs may be there.

She could also just be taking a break. If you think it's heat related, try putting a fan in the coop and spraying some water around in there. I do this all the time and it keeps my coop very cool.

I am getting only 6 eggs a day from my 15 layers. It's the heat.
