I have a hen that has been harassed by a trio of rooster brothers before I killed two of them. She is still shy and is having trouble growing back her feathers and gaining confidence after the incident. Could I just put her in a dog crate in the coop so she can still interact with the flock but have a divider so the Roos can’t get to her? It would be just until she gets her feathers back and has more confidence.

I have 3 roosters two of which are respectful to the hens then the third is kept away by the head roo I also have 10 hens. Should I still until the feathers on her head grow back? Because she tries to hide when the other hens look at her face

For the confidence issues, yes putting her in the dog crate might be a good thing to try. It will certainly let her eat and drink in peace, rather than running away every time any hen looks at her.

As other people said, being in the dog crate will probably not help the feathers much. She might grow new ones to replace any feathers there were actually pulled out, but the broken ones will stay there until the next time she molts (probably in the fall.)

Okay I will try the dog crate for confidence and there are feathers that were pulled out on her head that will hopefully grow back. She isn’t being mated with anymore that the other hens it was only a problem before I killed the two I mentioned. So hopefully she will get her confidence back
