Hen (roo?) attacking my son (Photos added- post #11)

She is 6.5 months old.

Those feathers at the top of her tail are a bit more long/ arching than any that my other golden campine has.

This is her next to my 2 year old rooster. She is my smallest hen.

This is her on the left. On the right is my other golden campine (same age and definitely a hen- she lays eggs and I have caught her in the act).

You shouldn't hold birds upside down. Chickens can quickly die if held upside down, as their respiratory systems can't cope with that position. In terms of establishing dominance, which is your intent, simply holding her is sufficient.

Wow! I had no idea! Is it also distressing if you are holding them on their back (like cradling a baby)? That is actually what I am doing... I guess "upside down" isn't exactly the right term.

Gorgeous rooster!

I'd get rid of the hen asap. Rehome or stew, whichever works best for you. Your son is more important.
