Will this effect the chances of putting it under a diff broody and it developing? The girl with the egg now is clueless, she tries to sit on it but never puts it under her right. The first night i stuck it under her and it was warm the next morning, then she got up to eat and didnt sit back on it.
Thanks

Do you know how long it was actually cold?

If it wasn't cold to long, you should be able to save it.

Hens often do this when they think they are broody, but never
stick with it. Next time try letting your hen set on fake eggs or
golf balls for a few days before giving her real eggs, to be sure

that she will actually sit.

Nope and its still in the cage and cold. It was only warm for a few hours. She is still broody and had been for a week(all it took was to show her a chick and BAM broody haha) she just doesnt know that the egg needs to be under her i guess.

Some are like that. My hen set for 2 weeks, then stopped. I was so mad at that darn

little hen, and to top it off one egg got cracked and they eat them all.

That sucks. My silkies eat there eggs sometimes. The other broody i have is a good and she will sit and hatch, she hatched 4 silkies last yr. Now she hasnt been broody for a day so hopefully bringing her in and throwing eggs in with her will get her going again. I dont wanna waste these eggs from my new serama.
