hen setting, anyone get lucky w/o brooders- all natural?

I wish mine would go broody. They would only sit on the eggs at night and the rest of the day, they just wanted to play!

I think I mishandled my fertile eggs before placing them under my broody silkie Serama bantam and therefore none of the eggs hatched. The hen was an excellent broody, however. If you store the eggs before they go under the hen, they should be around 55 degrees and 75% humidity which is about the temp/humidity in a refrigerator vegetable bin. You can always place a thermometer/hygrometer in there to see. Other than that, the following link has everything else you need to know about "Letting Mama do the Work". Enjoy.
