Our Faverolle is on the nest right now (I just filled up their suet cage with Cauliflower leaves and I was watching them destroy it) and she just screamed out of nowhere. I've never seen her do this before. So far she's only done it once, but I still wanna know why she did it to begin with.
Thanks in advance!

Is sounds like she is broody(Wants to hatch her eggs)

Does she scream at you while in the nest?Is she in the nest all day?
She just got in the nest, and I was nowhere near her eggs (there arent even any eggs in the nest she's in, it's just wood and hay) We were on opposite sides of the coop/run when she screamed (she was at the very end of the coop and I was near the door of the run)

No eggs wont stop them from going broody. Some information on the hen and her environment would be very helpful. Is she a new layer?Broody hens will scream when disturbed. How often does she go in the nesting box?

She is a fairly new layer (I believe she started about 2 or 3 weeks ago) And she goes in the nesting box about once a day to lay like usual. Though, I don't know if this has anything to do with broodiness, but she laid twice yesterday (Once in the morning then again in the afternoon)

Hens are weird sometimes.I would suggest doing a physical examination and make sure she didn't injure her self or step on any thing sharp.
