I posted this on the hatching board, but no luck so maybe it will do better here.

I have my broody hen sitting on 6 duck eggs. Tonight will be the end of day 5. I read a couple of places that with duck eggs in the incubator that you need to mist the eggs. I don't really think my broody would have much tolerance for that. Will this impact our hatch? Also, I am going to put 5 chicken eggs under her at the end of day seven. Anyone have any experience with that kind of thing. Stories help pass the time.

Thanks!

I've had duck eggs hatched by hen chickens and hen turkeys. They will hatch just fine but be ready to watch those serrogate moms go nuts when those baby ducks hit the water.
A word of caution though. The baby ducks will not have the waterproofin feathering they get from brooding under momma duck so it would be wise to keep them away from water until they get their feathers.

your baby ducks will get their waterproofing gland at 2 months
