Instead of trying to rid the world of mice and snakes perhaps you could pen her area off and block the view so she can't see them. Hardware cloth or chicken wire combined with plastic may work.
Though at 4-5 days mine use their outdoor hen w/chicks pen so they can get away from any critters that frighten her. At night they sleep in a closed pet carrier as extra protection even though the hen house is snake proof.
