Hen Spurs

I know I’m late to the party here but if anyone still wants to reply, did your hens with spurs stop laying? Is it a hormone thing? My polish is just starting to grow the spurs, much bigger than the little nubs used to be, so they’re coming in. That’s fine, I’ll learn how to trim them and all that. But she has stopped laying for quite some time now. We’ve had a rough summer with all manner of creepy critters in the coop and I know they’ve been under stress. Now they’re molting. I just wondered if it might be hormonal. She just turned 2. Thanks for your help.
Mine don't stop laying. In fact most of mine are gluttons for going broody. My spitzhaubens are constantly brooding

I have a blue egg layer that is half Leghorn. At 1 1/2 years she is just developing spurs. So far they're only about a half inch long. She has a very large comb and wattles, so almost looks like a roo. It's winter and she's gone through her molt, but she still lays the occasional egg. In 25 years of raising chickens, I just branched out from SLWs a couple years ago to include colored egg layer, and this is the first hen I've ever had with spurs.
