Because she it was a soft shell, I would recommend giving her oyster shell or calcium drench and D3.

They do have free choice oyster shells, but what is calcium drench? Never heard of that...

I had a hen that always layed eggs that were paper thin shells or lash eggs, never normal.
I gave her oyster shells, and egg shell, but I could never get her to eat them. So after she layed paper eggs I would give her... I believe it 1/2 cc of Goat Calcium Drench plus some D3 to help her attain the calcium. Do not do this unless she continues to lay strange eggs.

i was once told to put them in a box near a warm radiator and run warm water and vasaline on her vent,not at the same time though, good luck x
