I have ten hens 8 lay brown eggs two lay white and I realized I haven't gotten a white egg in two weeks I know there would be less white eggs because one of the white white egg layers was a brown leghorn who went broody in October! But the other is an Ancona hen who is 8 months old she already started laying and all of a sudden she just stopped I do not know why please help

Have you changed feed? I went from a meat added pellet to a vegetarian layer pellets and half my flock stopped and another quarter slowed down. Changed back to old feed and all started laying again.
Second - have you moved them? Also had hens stop laying when I moved them from a shed with tiny run to a small house and big run. Again all stopped completely, after three weeks I gave in and moved them back, two days later they all started laying again daily. Chooks seem to be creatures of habit and get terribly upset when I change things.

If you are in a cold climate right now, all my girls have always stooped laying once it gets to be the colder fall/winter months. They'll pick right back up in the warmer months next year.

Not sure how that works in climates that are warm year round, but I assume it's a mental thing. Something they do naturally around a certain time of year.

I'm not in a too cold of climate Oklahoma it's not cold yet but daylight has changed and they have been on the same feed all their lives others hens are still laying but her the do not get moved we can't because we live in a neighborhood and we can't have chickens so we have to hide them
