Hen suddenly lost

It just poured rain so I think that she can get water from just about anywhere the only thing I'm worried about is her getting cold and her eggs dyeing

I have a bloodhound but I have no feathers from her or eggs so....

You haven't given up on hope yet that she is still alive? I don't know but, it's probably best to accept that she's no longer here........ more than likely she was killed off by a predator, maybe a hawk or a fox/coyote.

I was just thinking any ol dog they have a nose for finding animals. My little chihuahua is like a pit bull lol she notices things I walk past and can take you directly to the nearest chicken poop!

Well, I do hope that I'm wrong. I just feel bad for the poor girl if she keeps her hopes up for nothing, I mean if she thinks the hen's alive and gone broody somewhere, that's 3 whole weeks of holding on to something that maybe isn't there. For me, I would rather just accept the worse fate, but I suppose it's good to hold on to hope too at the same time....... miracles do happen. *Cue 'The Prince of Egypt' song - When you Believe*

I hope she is not dead I rescued her from someone that didn't want their chickens anymore and I watched her go from the bottom of the pecking order and being pecked whenever she moved to the leader of the flock where all the hens moved out of the way just for her and she was the bravest out of them all and my favorite chicken

normally I would say she is dead but we haven't found feathers we don't have birds of pray that come to the ground because the dogs are always out side and the dogs love to dig with the hens and the hen that was lost was digging with my dogs the last time I saw her and coyotes leave feathers behind so I think that she is just broody
