hen t has come up lame

The one bad thing about Marek's is that quarantining them will not help. If the birds are carriers, they will not show any symtoms but will infect the rest of the flock. Plus, it can take up to 8 or more weeks for symptoms to appear.

Yea, you can't find it quarantining for it. The other thing is that NIP testing does not cover Marek's.

I am hoping the State can come asap.

The state will not be able to test for Marek's. It is not a part of NPIP. Maybe I shouldn't say that. I have heard that there is a blood test for Marek's but have never known the state to test for it. Just private vets. Did they say that they would be able to test for it?

No they didn't say. I was lead to think they would if they came & did NIP testing. I have not heard back from them as of yet. so far no vet close by does it.
Fingers crossed.

I'm sorry. I think that you were misled. From viewing tons of threads on Marek's, I did run across one link that said some lab in TX will do bloodtesting for Marek's. Otherwise, everyone has them necropsied for diagnosis.
