Hen trying to lay!

My hen is trying to lay but it is taking her a long time and she is in a VERY hot section of the coop. I put some water with ice cubes in it beside her and a fan to blow on her. She usually lays quickly. While I was out of town one died and I think she got too hot and couldn't lay! Can I move her to a cooler spot even though she's trying to lay? THANK YOU!!!!

I have moved my hens as they try to lay, one even layed in my hand as I was carrying her to a new nestbox! I have never had any trouble with moving them, good luck!

I'm sorry to bother you again but if she can't lay it can you tell me the best thing to do. I am still learning about chickens and haven't come across this before.

Give her more calcium. Perhaps grind up a tums and make it into a slurry with water, and moisten some bread with the slurry.

I don't think I need any more chickens! They are really stressing me out! Can you please tell me the best way to treat sour crop.

Did she lay? If not give her calcium. Not too much though. Just crush a tablet, and mix it in her food

Yes she did! She was even kind of weak and yesterday she was perfectly fine. I ground up a little bit of tums, added water, and enough bread to just absorb the liquid. Then I sat her in warm water for a bit. About an hour later she laid. Weird. She never has has problems laying.
