This has come on suddenly because my hens are almost 3 yrs old and this behavior just started....but one of my hens, the one who is always aggressive anyways (she will chase us and even fight with our dog) is trying to mate with the other hens. She grabs patches of feathers and just starts at it.
I know she is indeed a hen not a rooster, I have seen her lay eggs.
