I am sorry. Have you checked the flock lately for mites, especially red mites. These are the mites that spend the day in cracks and crevices in the coop, especially roosts, and attack the hens at night. An Ag professor with the University of Arkansas said that these mites kill a lot of broody hens. Check at night after they have been on the roost a while. A daytime check will not find them.
