One of our hens (8 months old) has been wheezing/gasping for 2 days. The temperature has suddenly dropped at night to about 20 degrees the past few days. We brought her inside today. She seems to be drinking/eating and I can't see anything in her throat. Any suggestions on what we should do?

She could have a cold. From time to time with weather changes I've had a bird or 2 have this problem. May sound nuts but I rub a little Vicks Vapor Rub under each wing to help them breath at night. You may want to mix some vitamins & or antibiotics to her water too! If you want to give her a little boost until you can get to a feed store you can try 1 tsp sugar & 1 TBSP vinegar to a quart of warm water for drinking!
