I'm sure that this is a stupid question but...

Okay I have a 1 year old Buff Orpington with a small laying over comb. Her sister has a large bright red comb that stands up. The one with the funny looking comb has like small moldy or dirty spots on it. Is this normal? They aren't really noticable unless you look real close but I'm a panicky mom and I'm hoping it isn't some kind of disease. It doesn't look bad like the picture of the chicken in the Learning center-Chicken diseases but it does look sort of similar. Is this dangerous?

Could you post a pick? Black spots that look like you took magic marker and dotted the comb is just dried dirt or blood from fussing. Raised circular whelps, often white with black/dark centers can be Fowl Pox. Fowl Pox is like chicken Pox in people, minimal concern unless it turns into wet poxs, where you see yellow puss in nose and throat. Insect bites can also cause whelps.

I can't get a pic to upload right now. I'm hoping that its just like dried dirt or something, but I have a feeling that it is probably Fowl Pox because that is just my luck. Crossing my fingers!
