I have a Hen I got at an auction two weeks ago. Yesterday I saw she had a prolapse. With gloves I cleaned her up and with olive oil pushed it back in. Today she laid an egg, but her butt sticks and is runny. She action normal. How long can she live like that?

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of her and the prolapse?

I'd start her on at least 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3. Give one now, then once daily for a week. The Extra Calcium can help with retention and contractions.

Keep any exposed tissue coated with ointment, oil, raw honey or an anti-inflammatory so it does not dry out and turn necrotic.

See that she's drinking well and eating her normal feed.
