I have a 4-year-old hen who has fluid in her abdomen. The first time I noticed, she was super big and swollen. I read a few threads on here to get myself prepared and got an 18 guage needle and syringe and started draining it. The fluid was dark green and cloudy which I was super worried about but the next day she was better. She started eating again and everything. I kept her quarantined to keep her stress down. About 2 weeks later, the day before yesterday, she is swollen again. I immediately knew what to do, and the fluid was straw colored and clear this time. Yesterday she was not better so I drained it again. Today I went to check on her and it seems like there is more fluid now. What should I do? Should I subject her to being poked again? I realize that she is kind of older, and that killing her may be the only option. Also, she has stopped laying. Her feed is a mix of soybean, cracked corn, and grains. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
