Hen with an injury

Hello!

We just purchased two laying hens to add to our flock. This afternoon we were catching them to inspect for mites and found this hen to have this gash. Should we be doing anything about this? She's laying and acting normal... She also has some bald spots on her back and butt where there are no feathers. Don't know if that's related or not.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I am very new to chickens but I wonder if that's what people mean when they say
the rooster is not gentle with the girls. Did they come from a place with roosters?

Yes I am sure they would have been around roosters. Do you think that is from a spur?

You may want to put Blu-Kote on it so the other chickens don't pick at it.
