I have a 1 year old purebred Ameracauna hen (I hatched her from mail order eggs, she was the only surviving hatchling). Since she was about a month old 2 of her toes on one of her feet have been crooked/curled like they were broken. It wasn't that noticeable as a chick but now that she's a full grown free ranging adult it is more noticeable. She roosts fine and runs fine (although she looks a little goofy sometimes) but I'm wondering if this will affect her overall health in the long run. We typically don't get overly attached to our laying hens (more focused on egg production for our little homestead farm), but for some reason this sweetie has turned into more of a pet. I'm not interested in taking her to a vet or anything, just wondering if her foot will be a problem.
