yesterday I found one of my hens was having a hard time breathing. She was making odd sounds, could have been sneezing. Her chest was very congested. After some reading I figured she had a virus. I culled her, cleaned the coop and sanitized everything. Today more are sneezing and one has nasal discharge.
Where do I go from here? I have a flock of 30 and 34 newly hatched chicks. I don't want infectious birds and I don't want to treat symptoms.
Is it possible I could keep culling and get ahead of the virus? Do I need to start over from scratch with new chicks from a hatchery and develop a vaccination program?
