I have a hen who has the broody cluck, the puffing of feathers when approached but lays eggs everyday and roosts at night. She has been doing this for 2 weeks, should I be concerned?

No, I see that stuff a lot. I have one doing it right now.

Hormones are what cause a hen to go broody. Sometimes those hormones kick in a bit but not enough for her to go all the way to full broody mode. I’ve had hens go so far as to spend one night on the nest but then not go back.

It’s possible she will kick over to full broody mode at any time. She may keep doing that for another week or two. Or she might snap out of it at any time. It's all normal.
