Hen with comb, wattles and feathers on head gone.

One of our 2 y/o hens is not doing well. Thursday all were fine (we have 5 reds and 1 americauna) On Friday, she was just laying in the coop having a hard time walking, no noticeable injuries. Yesterday she is laying under the ramp and all her feathers on her head as well as her comb and wattles are gone. She is still eating and drinking . Suggestions please

It sounds as if she is being attacked by her flock mates. This may be because she is ill or it may just be the 'red' attitude being expressed. It sounds as if it is imperative to remove her from the flock.

I will do that today . I feel so bad for her. Our girls are great pets and my daughter has raised them since day 1 and we would hate to loose any .

Remove right away. The will attack a chicken they feel is weak or sick. Isolate her in a dog crate with food and water. Then investigate why she is ill. Offer some water and food.

She is still eating and drinking well. Moving a bit more today. In the pic , she is sleeping, her eyes looked fine when she was awake.

Thank you ! Poor girl I gave her some oregano prophylactics in case of infection while she is healing .
