Hen with egg laying issues?

Anyone there know how to do poultry fecals and/or swabs to be sent to a lab??

Yes, we use a very large lab that we can send samples to, fortunately for employees all testing is free! I have not sent in any samples, should I?

So......Gretchen still has not laid an egg! She is acting completely normal and will even sit in the nest box like she's going to lay an egg but nothing.....its been 2 weeks. My vet friend, who also has chickens, said it can take up to a month for a chicken to get back to normal after such an episode. Any thoughts?

I do not know how to tell how old a chicken is. Mine stopped laying because a few weeks ago she was "egg-bound", she is only a year old.

You may want to post your question in the egg-laying section of this forum. I know habitat/diet can affect a hens production but I'm no expert.

Well......After laying successfully since Monday, she has started with the "issue" again :((

Hunched over, straining a bit. She did not lay yesterday and my daughter said she was in the box a few times.....I have given her a crushed tums this morning and I guess we shall see. I did scramble a couple eggs with shell that she was slightly interested in but....IDK
