Hen with gas!

I have a hen that went off her feed a couple of days ago and had a very distended, bloated abdomen. She was having some difficulty walking because she was so bloated. It felt like gas not fluid, as with acites. We checked for an internal egg but could feel anything. We soaked her in warm water and she seemed to enjoy it. Prior to the soaks, her stools were watery. Her respiratory rate was increased, but it is really hot. Today, my husband massaged her abdomen and he said she actually passed gas/farted!!! Didnt know chickens did that! She also had a really big stool. After all of the action, she seemed to feel a little better. We have been feeding her squash, prunes (thinking she was constipated), pumpkin, all of which she eats. She is still off her regular feed. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Any advice/suggestions etc. Thanks a lot!!

Try to massage her a little more often if it makes her feel better.
If she gets seriously ill, consider taking her to the vet. Make sure the vet takes chickens first!
